Fishing the Vineyard Report 06/26/2010




This morning's agenda included a mix of open water jerk bait fishing for rolling striped fish and blind fishing with in tight over patch bottom. Neither were a home run...while we're not talking complete famine, the open water potato patches are certainly a wee bit less dense than they have been in recent weeks. This, compounded with heavy weekend boat traffic made the conditions for getting bites on light tackle difficult at best. We ground through it though, and wound up with a decent sized hand-full of slot fish. Once said action dispersed we tucked back into to the beach. While the patch reefs aren't holding to many striped fish at this point they were holding the plus sized yellow eye that you see pictured at the top of this spread. Fun morning with a great father son team...
