Fishing the Vineyard Report 08/28/09
Hey kids, been a while. Our little slice of the world up here on the pebble has been receiving a great deal of attention in the national media lately, causing me to lay low with the blogging scenario (can't be to careful Kevin). Pictured above are Frank (left) and Andy from New York. If fished with these guys on Tuesday afternoon and we encountered some plus sized bluefish feeding in open water under a flock of shearwaters. The action was not consistently intense, but it had moments of blinding brilliance. The excursion was highlighted when Frank, who's turning 90 this year, brought to boat an impressive double digit range fish on relatively light spin (the fish in the picture was caught by Andy; we shot the pictures of Frank's fish with a different camera and I'll post them as soon as I have them). Frank told me that the key to longevity is clean living, clean thinking and two glasses of scotch a day. I'm inclined to agree. I would also add to that late afternoons floating around in the skiff, Slave to the Traffic Light set closers and watching the last scene of Pulp Fiction repeatedly.
May the Force be with you...
